The Current US govt. annual $1.4 billion giveaway to the Egyptian military is mostly on hold. New US jets await delivery. We trained al-Sisi. US Congress legally cannot fund a coup govt. and as such the Obama administration is unwilling to say one way or the other if a coup took place in Egypt. US govt. priorities for funding foreign military on their turf is first Israel, then Egypt, and so forth.
Trained US military special forces operate in 130+ foreign countries, including Egypt. Funding streams for deployed Navy Seals, Army Rangers, etc, are billions of dollars spent yearly to train foreign military. Many of these lethal manufactured warriors eventually leave the USA military service to become private contractors. Yet, their next pay warrants are funded, as before, with American tax payer dollars via a crowd sourcing formation of Chinese ownership in US govt. backed securities (US Treasuries) and investments.
Lasting peace? Assassinated Sadat? Puppets cannot bring peace? Corporate military industrial complexes are against the formation of democracies in MENA. Freedom dramatically and negatively affects bottom lines. My take is a United States of Islam is underway and no amount of USA tax payer billions thrown into the MENA caldron will stop a formation of same. Why? Blowback is a bitch and Twitter is too powerful of a medium for social information and consequently civil society reform.
Our country will go broke and flip over like Russia if we keep the pedal to the metal as regards controlling MENA. The Arab Spring was a sweet piddle of spit into the Nile. Now, we are talking an Arab Continent.
What the US govt. should do is withdraw from the region, take their finger out of the bleeding dyke of Israel, and let the people of MENA decide who and what is the format for their future. USA gubberstand on behalf of the corporate state has been playing this bloody imperialistic card game so long they actually believe they can win the last hand. We won’t.
The United States of Hillary’s role is not as grand peacemaker, and never was, no matter what the Lanky Yankee (John Kerry) yaps in Geneva.
The complexity of the Egyptian culture is beyond western understanding because passionate educated Egyptians are first poets and scholars, then left-over pharaonics, and finally hard-wired deeper than any Swiss Jungian shrink. Coupled to an innate savoir faire we are like pimples on the back of trapped pigs compared to multi-lingual intellectual Egyptians, and it makes no difference if they are practicing believers of Islam, Coptic, or seculars.
Americans, we are out of our league, as were the Byzantines, Romans, Fatimids, Ottoman Turks, the Al Pasha, Greeks, the French, and the English. Plus, the current regime is a swing in the breeze as al-Sisi is a Mamluk (slave soldier). Our American puny history as a republic in relationship to what Egypt has endured, built, festered, and fostered does not even qualify as five molecules of breathable air. The Suez, the Red Sea, the Sinai, the 4, 258 mile (6,853 km) long Nile and its delta, the Mediterranean, the White Desert, the Blue Desert, and the Sahara are physically impossible to defend. This is not news to Egyptians.
The Nile flows Northward for this arcane rich civilization and sometimes I wonder if ancient Egyptians made it do so on purpose. There are some who contend the limestone fashioned Great Sphinx of Giza is 85,000 years old, not 6,000. There are others who think Egyptian genetics originated off-world. I dunno. All I do know, is the more I listen and learn from Egyptian creatives I realize how small souled dimensional westerners are in comparison.
The arrogance exhibited by USA govt. in costly vain attempts to fix MENA conditions is laughable and kinda sad. Our country needs to immediately put the focus on its self before America implodes beyond repair.
The Egyptian people are in treacherous falling seas and its own waterways are probably going to turn blood red before what is next takes wing. Yet, Egypt will survive and probably thrive. Why? Thousands of years of history belies Egypt’s intensity to be free as being endemic.
Those who served the pharaohs were not slaves. They lived in harmony and balance with cosmic forces. An intricate lifestyle and a political governing where Egyptians viewed their universe as a complete duality between male and female. Something most Americans have nether a clue.
